Whenever I’m asked to design a logo, I always start with researching what’s already out there.
Who’s the competitors? What colours are used? Are there any themes… That sort of thing.
It was apparent after my research that I had to avoid the obvious bulbs and plugs for my electrician customer and luckily, I was given free rein to come up with something different. Perfect!

Starting from scratch with no legacy brand means I can really test the water and start as far from the box as possible.

This is what I came up with…
I took inspiration from tattoos and created the electric eel using the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator. This bad ass eel is a logo that Adam can wear proud on his workwear. It without a doubt stands out from the electrical norm and even more with the added spot gloss on Adam’s business cards.

Adam has been an electrician for years but was just starting out on when he asked for a branded business card.
This logo was later applied to his workwear and van.

“Ashleigh’s work was recommended to me by a friend. After a quick chat an the phone I was confident that she knew how I wanted my brand to look. I was blown away by the electric eel, it’s so different and outside of the boring norm, which is exactly what I wanted. I love showing them off at the wholesalers, the boys are so jealous.” Adam, Green Bolt Electrical.
